On Paediatric Stereotyping…

I was sitting in the hospital waiting room this morning, bored, when a lady came in with what were obviously twin daughters. I watched them briefly and something occurred to me: of all the child twins that I have ever seen, I can’t ever remember them not being dressed identically or their hair styles different.

I wondered about this: why is it that parents feel the need to carry on the apparent non-distinction of child twins into their attire?

After all, they never give them the same names, do they? And what is more, even though twins may be superficially similar or even identical, doesn’t each one possess their own individual personalities?

So what is the point of making them appear identical?

Just a thought. 🤔
